Scottish Golf Tourism Week returns to Fairmont, St Andrews, and we are delighted to be attending!
This year marks the 4th Scottish Golf Tourism Week, an opportunity for Scotland’s leading golf businesses to come face-to-face with the world’s leading tour operators, creating more than 4,000 meetings in the process. There is also the chance for familiarisation trips across the country, allowing the visiting tour operators the opportunity to experience the very best of Scotland’s internationally recognised golf and hospitality sectors. Last year, over 90 tour operators representing 35 different countries attended the event.
Scottish Golf Tourism Week allows Scottish businesses to present themselves to an international audience in the most coordinated and professional way and engage with leading buyers from around the world to help more businesses internationalise and grow Scotland’s vital visitor economy.
Having only been running since 2015, Scottish Golf Tourism Week shows no signs of slowing down any time soon, establishing itself as a crucial part of Scotland’s £286million golf tourism industry. Last year’s event is expected to directly contribute £19.1million worth of additional business to Scotland by 2021 and even more success is expected at this year’s event.
Malcolm Roughead, Chief Executive of VisitScotland, told Golf Tourism Week: “Golf tourism is a vital part of Scotland’s visitor economy and I’m delighted that Scottish Golf Tourism Week has made such a positive contribution to growing this industry and bringing more people to experience what it is like to play in Scotland, the Home of Golf.
We are super excited to be attending the event this Wednesday at one of the world’s most iconic golf resorts, Fairmont St. Andrews. There is truly no better venue for such event to be held!
